Plane crash 1

Fifteen people were killed last night after a plane crashed in a field near the Harewood estate in Leeds.

The Bandeirante light aircraft came down at 5:30 yesterday evening in poor weather, half an hour after taking off from Leeds Bradford airport.

All of the crash victims were crew and business people. Operating airline, Knight Air, said they are "extremely distressed at the loss of life".

The crash site has been sealed off for further examination by the Civil Aviation Authority and a formal investigation to identify who was on board the light aircraft will take place.
